Once Garry's Mod is launched, it should automatically start to re-download and re-install the addons. This is extremely important!! If you don't have enough space, they will download but they won't install and you will have the same problem as before. If there's anything there, delete it.īefore launching Garry's Mod, make sure that you have enough space for your addons. Once that's done, go to your Garry's Mod addons folder.

It probably will not have consequences but I haven't tested it myself, so better safe than sorry. I haven't confirmed this, but don't delete the 4000 folder itself. Back out and delete every file in the "4000" folder.

If the contents in one of the folders contains a legacy.bin file (or something similar) then you're in the right place. Go to "steamapps\workshop\content\4000" and look in one of the folders. Wherever that site may be could also help. I was thinking there might be a site where I can download addons straight to that folder, instead of in game. I tried installing a whole ton of addons off of trending, and I found in the console a giant box of red text. I think I might be missing something, so if you could find it that'd help. I checked the garrysmod addon folder, and they aren't there either. They download, install, and show up in my subscriptions, but they don't show up in the menu. Try "Menu_cleanupgmas" in the developers console (~ to open) so you can clear it.Īnother possibility is that Gmod is just having an error installing, I'm not sure about fixing this because the Source Engine (valves game engine) is very unoptimized, which is why Valve's games like Gmod, TF2, L4D2, etc. also, it says missing file, but that cannot be because of those addons. mine seems fine, I've only run into one addon that did this, I was kinda dissapointed when I saw it. That is my closest bet about what's happening there. Although no errors about that pop up, it doesn't even exist so that doesn't make sense to me. Originally posted by Nightfall:The red text is GMod not discovering the addon so it shows an error and, because it's classified as a "bad addon" by Garry's Mod (because it had an error) it tries to remove the addon.
